…choose the way you feel
There are two kinds of people in the world people that believe that can do something and people that believe they cannot do something and they are both right. Henry ford
A man’s as miserable as he thinks he is.
Lucius Annaeus Seneca
Be aware of your beliefs and definitions as you approach any subject, your emotions will be an indication of these.
Realizing that you have choice over your beliefs, that in itself is a belief.
Many thought patterns (beliefs) are acquired during our early years from our education or from significant people around us when we did not know much and we had to bridge the gap so as to move forward and we did not know any better. However, once we are aware of them , it is up to us to keep them or change them , they become our response –ability.
Beliefs are after all thoughts that you have the habit of thinking, so much so you are for the most part you are unaware that you do think them. Like any habit it has a beaten neurological path, which by virtue of repetition, like the paths in the wilderness, the more you walk them the wider and easier to walk they become, nevertheless once you have chosen a different path at first, you really have to consciously make an effort to start and continue through a rough unbeaten path, but after a time the new path begins to open, smooth out and widen while in the old one the wilderness begins to grow back over it.
We all have changed many beliefs throughout our lives, your thinking processes, your thoughts are always based on the beliefs you hold, and these will determine how you feel when placing your focus on any subject, based how you feel you act one way or another towards that subject, and thus creates your life experience or your version or reality.
Reality?
It is what you think it is, it has as much value as you value it, it has the meaning you give it
Reality we can truly say is whatever you experience, since it really depends in how you view it, perceive it and consequently deal with it.
People as individuals or in groups like in cultures, countries, political parties have great discussions, arguments , and even open conflicts in politics, religions, current affairs, daily mundane events, celebrities, sports and yes even science, about what the truth of reality is and we all seem to have reasons, axioms, postulates (beliefs) to support us in our arguments , which are also the basis of our experience which is self fulfilling, we tend to find the evidence we seek.
We all have had tried to convince someone of something, I know I have, it is really hard to do or I would say almost impossible, nevertheless people are very much influenced by our peers those we consider or aspire to be our equals , in other words people we identify with, my point here is that we are constantly aware or not, choosing beliefs about who we are, our values and what we consider our truths. So if we are choosing, let’s do it consciously and tastefully and become the person we want to be.
